Short+Sweet Sydney 2009 offers a prize pool of over AUS$20,000 in cash and professional development opportunities.
The Top 11 plays, as voted by our judges and our audience, are invited to be perform at the Gala Final, and all are eligible for prestigious awards and fabulous prizes.
The prize categories are:
- The Alex Broun - Best New Talent Award
- Best Comedy Script
- Best Drama Script
- AFC Award for the Script which shows the most potential to become a Short Film
- Best Independent Theatre Company
- Best Actor runner up
- Best Actress runner up
- Best Actor

- Best Director
- (NEW FOR 2009) The Spirit of Short+Sweet Award – for the participant who best represents the spirit of the Festival
- The People’s Choice Award
- Short+Sweet Award for Best Overall Production
