Singapore
Short+Sweet is the biggest short play festival in the world. First produced at the Newtown Theatre in Sydney, Australia in 2002, the Festival is now coming to Singapore - the first country outside Australia to host Short+Sweet.
The Festival is a wonderful opportunity for both experienced and emerging writers, actors and directors to showcase their talents in a highly creative, collaborative and professional environment.
Don’t miss the second season of Short+Sweet Singapore - the biggest little play festival in the world.
This innovative and fresh theatre festival will feature 40 ten-minute plays that showcase the best of Singapore’s established and emerging writers, directors and actors.
Short+Sweet 2008 will feature three weeks of top 30 plays (in English) and a week of 10 plays (in Mandarin). Short-listed plays not selected for the top 30 will also receive a staged-reading at The Arts House. The Gala Final Week will conclude the festival at the Esplanade Theatres on the Bay.
Short+Sweet Singapore will offer a series of workshops in playwriting, directing and acting beginning in January 2008.
