Alex Broun, the Associate Festival Director of the Short+Sweet Dubai Theatre Festival and the world’s leading 10-minute play guru, will be running one of his acclaimed Short+Sweet playwrighting weekends in Dubai from the evening of Thursday September 25th to Saturday September 27th.
Over one Thursday night and all day Friday and Saturday participants will learn all the secrets to writing a great ten-minute play then see the play come to life right before their eyes!
As an added bonus to writers taking part in the course one play will be specially selected by Alex for him to personally direct in Short+Sweet Dubai Theatre Festival 2015.
The course suits writers of all levels of experience from those just starting out to published authors.
On Thursday night and Friday day Alex will take participants through all the things that make up a great ten minute play – Dialogue, Character, Story/Situation, Theatricality and Dramatic-Tension. On Friday night participants then go home and write a first draft of a ten-minute play.
On Saturday Short+Sweet actors are brought in to workshop the plays and the weekend climaxes on Saturday afternoon with moved readings of the plays written in the course.
