Melbourne 2008
Following the success of Fast+Fresh Theatre 2007, the 2008 festival was held once again with the cooperation of St Martins Youth Theatre, and with the support of the City of Melbourne.
This year we kicked of Fast+Fresh with a series of workshops held by Michael Huxley, which taught about playwriting, in particular for the short play format of Fast+Fresh Theatre.
The heats were held at the Irene Mitchell Studio, and the Gala Final at the Randall Theatre at St Martins.
Schools participating this year included Mount Clear College, Lakeside Secondary College, Noble Park Secondary College, Upwey High School, Billanook College, Flinders Christian Community College, Melbourne Girls College and Knox School. We also had a special participation from a NSW school, Abbotsleigh, who travelled to Melbourne for the event.
The Gala Final also included the winner of the Geelong Fast+Fresh, an tour de force solo performance from Western Heights College.
